Don’t let it get to you
Stress is one of the biggest health issues in western society, and it is getting worse all the time, as people’s lives are being filled with more and more responsibilities and less and less expendable money. If we don’t learn how to reduce our stress levels and find some inner peace, we will all be in a bad way in the years to come. Unfortunately we cannot fill out and NHS Complaints claim in order to get compensation for our health issues.

It is first and foremost down to us as individuals to learn to cope with the stress of our own lives. Nobody else is going to take responsibility for this and it is ultimately us that suffer from it. If you have a stressful job, then the most important thing to be able to do is separate your work and home life. Those that carry their work worries home with them are doubling the amount of time that they feel stressed about it. If your job is only something that you do to earn money, then you should be able to recognize that at the end of the day, ill over. You need to be able to relax in your own free time and not be thinking about the same things you have been all day in work.
Taking up a physical activity in the evening is a great way of doing this. Going to badminton, tennis, football, aerobics or gym class is a great way of releasing your body tension and forgetting about work. The body releases endorphins during exercise and this fights stress which is the most important thing for your overall health. If you are not into sports then trying meditation, yoga or even playing a video game or board game can help to take the mind to a more relaxed place. All of these de stress ideas are great but nothing beats a little laughter therapy!
