Beat Stress With CBT

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT for short) is the name given to the process of systematically eliminating negative thoughts. More than just a therapy, it’s a way for those who are stuck in a rut to improve their life in many ways. But the best part is this: instead of focusing on curing you out-right like some techniques promise, it gives you the tools you need to sort yourself out. This means that although the sessions may be expensive, when you’re not in a session you can be applying what you have learned. It is because of this that it is probably the most positive kind of therapy, and one that is exceedingly popular – becoming even more so as stress increases and we are forced into a no-win situation where we’re required to work even more hours.

And if you’re wondering if you can afford it, think of it like this: will pole dancing classes help you like CBT can? Unlikely. What about going down the pub 4 times a week? I think you know the answer…the point is, although you may have to give up some things to be able to afford private CBT, in the long-run you will no doubt reap the rewards. For anyone who wants to get on with their life and is sick of being held back, CBT may well provide you with a state of mind which makes progressing into the person you want to be very achievable in a relatively short period of time.

Stress Misconceptions

The idea of eliminating stress is often treated in a very romantic light: bring out the candles, relax in a warm bath, rid yourself of your sorrow. But in truth these things are only masking the problem and sometimes making it worse.

And here is why:

1) Candles are fine, and they can be great for creating a romantic atmosphere, but don’t make the mistake of thinking that plunging yourself into darkness with only candlelight for company is a good idea. For one thing, dark rooms become even darker, and for another, candles cast ominous shadows and this might have a negative effect, subconsciously sending your mood into a deeper spiral of sadness.

2) Warm baths are OK now and again, and yes they can be soothing, but watch out. It’s a well known fact that warm temperatures can increase a person’s anger, which isn’t exactly what you need when you’re trying to cheer yourself up.

Instead, why not go for a run? The fresh air will do you good. Or, failing that, give a friend a ring on that old-fashioned device called the telephone. Having a chat with someone can do wonders.

But better than all of them, why not have a laugh? Having a laugh is proven to be a great way of relieving tension if you’ve had a hard day sorting out a shop fitting display or arguing with a friend.

Most of all, talk about it. The sooner you do that the sooner you might be able to get it to go away.

Community Gardens

Growing and digging in the great outdoors can be an absolute wonder cure for stress, but it can also be a serious stress generator. One way that I have found to balance the two is working on a community allotment. This is a extra large plot at the allotment site where a group of people gather every Sunday and tend a large selection of communal beds. One of the reasons that it works so well is because you don’t have to do everything yourself. Depending on the type of person that you are you will find different types of gardening jobs relaxing and other ones will be completely stressful. Some people absolutely love to go around with the watering can giving thirsty plants a drink, others like digging, others find weeding to be one of the most calming activities ever invented. The beauty is that you don’t have to do everything yourself. There was a great utopian philosopher called Charles Fourier, who believed deeply in cooperation and that different people were suited to different types of labour, it is only when you were doing the type of labour that you were unsuited for that your happiness and the function of society broke down. This type of cooperation is fundamental to the relief of stress at a community allotment. I will always treasure the great conversations that I have while working with others, I end up talking about everything from the best lead generation companies to my favourite courgette recipe. Great for stress relief!

Steps To Un-Stress

1) Don’t hang out with people who stress you: this is easier said than done, of course. But the key to achieving this is to weed people out slowly. That means not accepting every invitation you get from a stressy-friend and not always saying Yes. To begin with they might get upset, but ask yourself: it’s your life, and do you really need someone in it who doesn’t understand that stress is bad news for you?
2) Don’t always do over-time: this is a really obvious one, but of course not one that’s easy to turn down. We all need money, and often the lure of it is just too much to resist. With this you need to find a happy medium between enough free time and enough time to put food on the table.
3) Don’t spend money on stuff unless you really love it: you may well see some work by artist henderson cisz and want it straight away, but what happens when you buy it and the next week don’t have enough in the bank to pay the bills? Don’t be too spontaneous, otherwise you could find yourself in hot water.
4) Talking about bills…Pay them when they come in! Ignoring them is not the way to go. It’s much better to get them out of the way. Remember the old saying and you can’t go far wrong: don’t put off tomorrow what you can do today.
5) Don’t be on your own when you really want to be on your own: that might sound like a contradiction, but what it really means is recognising when you need to talk to someone. Get it off your chest and you’ll feel immediately so much better!

Best Granite Colors for White Cabinets

Best Granite Colors for White Cabinets

There is no color that is better suited for kitchen cabinets than white and you can surely see a few in the hotels in Looe. Once you have chosen the white cabinets however, there is the small issue of picking a granite countertop that will go well with them. Granite is of course the best kind of countertop that would go with white cabinets however granite comes in many colors and you must pick just the right one for you to come out with the right ambience for the kitchen.

You choice will be determined by two things. The first is whether you want your white cabinets to stand out more. If you want your white cabinets to stand out more and be the feature in the kitchen that will most attract the eye then you will definitely want to go with a dark granite countertop. The contrasting darker colors will make your white cabinets stand out even more in the kitchen. Some of the dark colors that you can choose from are absolute black, black marinace or black galaxy. If these are too extreme then go with granite that has a hint of color about it such as blue impala or Verde Fuoco.

The second thing that you may want is a granite color that completes the designs and makes the white cabinets blend in with the rest of the kitchen. If you also have wooden floors then granites with a light brown or a cream in them will be an excellent addition. You can also however choose to lessen the whiteness of the cabinets by picking a lighter shaded granite countertop. Bianco Sardo and Stanstead grey have a soft gray color in them that will fit in nicely with the white cabinets without taking the attention from them.

How to Truely Find Tranquility in Life

How to Truely Find Tranquility in Life

Finding tranquility for some can be as tough as finding green diesel. To get anything to be in perfect tranquility, there must be stability in all aspects of life. We must learn to stabilize work and play. I’d proceed as far to express that people could concentrate some interest on managing their lives. The meaning of tranquility is the quality or state of being tranquil; calmness; peacefulness; quiet; serenity (dictionary.com). We’re so fortunate to have a wide variety of elements in our lives.

We now have psychological, mental, natural, religious, wellness, economic and relational. Once they are continually operating together our lives turn out to be well-balanced. But needless to say some come less difficult than others. For example, I personally am a “do-er”. I enjoy get things completed and work throughout the day. I feel great when I can complete a great deal. It could be anything from cleaning up the storage to getting all my households laundry completed. Some time ago when i began having my kids, I realized that it had been “hard”for me to play. To become creative and carefree didn’t come normal for me. I had to work on it.

I have always felt a good sensation only after I get stuff done. So I needed to really concentrate on actively playing just like a kid with the children. That’s exactly what they wanted from me in order to fulfill their self-confidence. Alternatively, “playing”had been extremely normal for my hubby. He’d return from work and play through the night creating forts and chasing after the children. He worked really hard throughout the day and arrived home in order to play.

Whether or not you have kids or not isn’t the issue. What exactly are a few areas in your life that may use a little awareness? Could it be much more normal for you to play and not get the items that matter accomplished? Whichever it might be, all it requires is a small mindful attempt in order to modify the clutter in your life into stability. As people, we desire tranquility in our lives. If we’re so distressed mentally and psychologically, our actual body will begin breaking down.

I challenge you to simply start with a few minutes to think about how you can manage the balance in your lifestyle. We all have only one life to live so lets make it a great one!

Insurance is a moral duty

Insurance is a moral duty

Insurance costs an enormous amount, as any homeowner or car driver knows. In fact, for a large proportion of drivers (especially younger drivers) the annual insurance fee is more money than the car itself is worth. I know this has always been true for me, although I have a track history of buying preposterous vehicles.

Everybody needs insurance though. It is designed to give you peace of mind, as well as to reimburse you and others in the case of an accident. Vehicles are especially prone to accidents – with millions of people driving their cars in all sorts of directions all over the country, every now and again one of these people in one of these cars is going to make a miscalculation and drive their car into something expensive. The purpose of the insurance company is to pay the person who owns the expensive thing so that they can repair or indeed replace the expensive thing.

It isn’t just motorists and homeowners though. Consider the veterinarian or the doctor. He or she will need surgery insurance in order to practice safely. The pilot will need aeroplane insurance so that he can fly around without worrying about the financial burden of crashing his plane. Even the hippies with their fire toys (sort of balls of cloth on fire that they swing around on beaches and at Those Parties in the woods) need insurance before they can perform in public.

Insurance is an unavoidable component of living in the civilised world.

Calm Down

Calm Down

Calm Down

Stress is everywhere. As a matter of fact the whole universe, or at least the Earth, sees stress as an essential part of the life itself. The truth is that stress is a state when you become alert, ready to face the danger. This is an instinct that each and every creature has. However there is a big difference between stress that can save your life and stress that can destroy it. The later one is a form of stress that occurs in many individuals. You cannot think or do anything. When you are put in a difficult situation you just give up. You feel anxious all the time, you cannot sleep or eat. Put in short, you cannot enjoy life. The reasons behind this chronic stress can be numerous: busy work schedule, bad childhood memories with hairdressing scissors, car accidents and different other negative emotions and experiences. Whatever the reasons one thing is certain, you have to deal with this issue. Someone once said to me that the difference between the successful people and those that haven’t succeeded in live is that the first have managed to control the stress and haven’t fallen in its deep net. So what is the best way to deal with stress? Well as every man is different here are some basic tips that seem to work for almost everyone.

First – start exercising, do yoga or other physical activity. When you exercise your body produces huge amount of endorphin, the hormone of happiness. This not only eliminates the pain in your muscles but it also removes the stress like magic.

Second of all, try to hang out more with your friends. Go on short trips around the countryside or visit a new pub in your town. Just don’t stay home alone, watching movies and eating junk food. Explore the city, explore your country and if you can afford it – explore the world. Travelling is great way to keep your mind positive.

And third, find something you love to do and just do it. Enjoy a hobby or two and you will see soon you will feel better.

The Worst Places to Break Down : Let’s face it, nobody…

Push Yourself To Smile!

Many young people today are leaving their homes and staying alone for the sake of their careers and to chart a strong professional life for themselves.

One major issue that I have come across, which many of these young people face is the absence of family and their loneliness. To return to an empty home and to eat dinner without anybody to share your day with can really gnaw into the psyche of the toughest of people.

One of the greatest solutions that I have suggested to many is to gift themselves a plant. Being able to talk to your family everyday over the phone is fine, meeting many of your friends as the day ends and sharing a good laugh is all good, but there will come a time when one will get too tired of living this so called independence. That is when something like a plant will become company though it may sound frivolous and too outdone.

Plants are actual living beings and they breathe like us humans. One big advantage of keeping company by having a plant is that it does not intrude in anybody else’s life or space. Therefore, even if one is sharing the house with a few people, maintaining a plant is no problem. Without being too demanding on one’s own schedule, a plant does not demand unnecessary attention or expenses. Plants actually respond to people talking to it, and by talking to it one can actually help grow out of their loneliness.

There is immense patience that one needs to keep while keeping a plant and gardening. But when one does see the first new leaf on the plant or a flower bud, one cannot help but feel a sense of pride and immense ownership towards it.

Keeping pets is today’s fashion, however one must bear in mind that the attention and money demanded in maintaining pets is far higher than owning a plant. Also, you cannot simply take off for a holiday in some exotic villas in Portugal or any vacation as such if you have a pet that needs caring. Of course, not to mention the big help that one is doing to the society at large by increasing the world’s green footprint by nurturing a plant.

Anger Management

Anger Management

Have you ever felt like someone else is controlling you and you are just a motionless spectator. This scenario is called uncontrolled anger, most of the times caused by excessive stress levels. But what are we supposed to do in such situations? Just be a spectator and then when everything is over face the consequences? No, I don’t think so. So if you are one of those people that have experienced such a situation and want to change that, here are some tips for you.

First of all, if you are reading this, it means that you suffer from excessive stress. We all know that stress can be helpful; it can save your life and mobilize your entire body in critical situations. However when stress starts to build up it can have a serious impact on our well-being. So the first step is to analyse what is causing all this stress. Is it work, problems with your family or your partner. Don’t be afraid to go deep. There is no other way. If you find it difficult you can always seek professional help.

Then, use this simple technique. Every time you feel that you are about to lose control, count to 10 and focus your breathing on the tip of your nose. This will calm you down and clear your mind. Don’t be impulsive; always think about the consequences of your actions. When you are under a lot of stress your mind is not thinking clearly, you make mistakes and you constantly get frustrated by that. So, calm down.

For example: If you are on your way to renew your expired cat insurance and an idiot with a white van hits your car and your cat gets hurt– stay calm. Pull over, stop the car and count to then. Then think about your options. Don’t be aggressive toward the other driver, maybe he is having a bad day too. Talk to him in a calm manner then call the insurance people and seek advice. Never be aggressive – this can only lead to more problems.
